Kiss me, mouse pad love & crazy white teeth.

Thursday, March 15, 2012

How is it already Thursday???  Where did the week go?  We're looking forward to a fun weekend ahead filled with a little St. Patrick's Day party, a birthday party and then hopefully church & a relaxing Sunday!

And because it is ALMOST St. Patrick's Day, I had to share this with you....

Not at all related, but sn't this mouse pad fun?  I think I need it, but maybe with one of my favorite quotes instead.  A fun / cheerful inspiration to look at when in front  of the computer!

Oh, and several of you asked about my crazy white teeth in a photo I posted yesterday.... here's the secret:

what i'm loving wednesday

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Hello lovelies.

Let's get straight to it....

1.)  This Suave Dry Shampoo.  It's hard to beat with a $2 price tag!  It's not a miracle worker, but it does allow me to skip washing & blow drying my hair on day two [yes, I'm a weirdo and prior to finding this, washed should have washed my hair every.single.day.  Okay, in my prior life, when I was working, I washed my hair every freaking day because I had to be presentable / professional looking (greasy hair doesn't scream "professional").  Anyway, here's what I do....  the day after washing my hair (so day 2), I wake up, spray some all over, massage it into my scalp really well and then brush through it.  Sometimes I'll wet my roots around my temple and blow dry the front of my hair again for a minute or so just to freshen it up.  I'm a fan.  It saves me time and it smells yummy (very citrus-y ....kind of like oranges, delicious oranges).  I loved the way the dark hair Batiste dry shampoo worked --- it did a better job with soaking up any oil / adding volume, but for the love, it stunk!!!  My hubby, who would tell me that I was skinny if I weighed 400 lbs., admitted that it smelled really, really awful.  Good news is that I found this stuff.  It does the job well enough, it's cheap and I apparently like to smell like oranges (has a real citrusy / summer smell).

2.)  My "spruced" up St. Patrick's Day chalkboard.   I think we can all agree that everything / everyone looks better with a leprechaun hat.

3.)  Our first attempt at rainbow pancakes for our St. Patrick's Day "party".  It IS considered a party when there's two or more people, riggghhhtttt?).  Please say yes as it's my excuse to go overboard.  I think our next round will look better.

4.)  Flipping Out is coming back on tonight....or so I think.  I'm totally confused by their website.  If you haven't watched the show yet, you should...it rocks my world.  Love me some Jeff Lewis.  Jenny is my all-time favorite, but Zoila ranks really high up there.  Here's her quote on the show's site....
"It's always about poo at this house. It's crazy."

It's as though Zoila and I live the same life, no?  ;0)

5.)  THIS adorable / awesome / video, which I think is a perfect example of a child being creative (while being allowed to and encouraged through active parenting!).   Sorry that I couldn't post the video directly - for some reason it won't let me embed it?  Nonetheless,..........................
Way to go, Audri - so creative!!!  Keep building. : )

6.)  These photos of us and our Jackson Pie.  So glad that we randomly snap a few photos so often (we were walking out the door on Sunday and I decided to get a few photos of Jackson in his purple Polo!).
 My handsome loves!

7.)  (Lucky #7...that wasn't planned...awesome).  This quote!
Pinned here.

Oh, what a week!

Friday, March 9, 2012

I've been wanting to blog all week, but my little fam got hit with a cold. No fun at all! What started as a scratchy throat for me, turned into a cold for Jackson and me both (and another ear infection for J --- poor boy!). I think we're on the road to recovery, although Cason isn't feeling so great as of last night. :(. It's a whole other ballgame when you're sick and have a sick baby to take care of too!

But, I'm over this cold, so let's talk about fun stuff......

MY BOYS!  It's amazing how your house becomes a home when your evenings are filled with this!

You know me and how I can't keep myself out of Target.   I found this adorable milk / creamer dispenser (I actually plan to put syrup in it for pancakes).....MOO!! Isn't it cute?

And here's a sneak peek at some of the decorations for our St. Patrick's day party (and by party I mean us and another couple and their baby!!). Maybe I'm going overboard? Okay, I definitely am. But that's okay.....why not?

Cutest baby in America, no doubt. These are his shades for the pool this summer. I wish I could find some mini aviators!

a day in the life: a not so "together" day as a stay-at-home momma.

Monday, March 5, 2012

Hi friends-

In an effort to keep things honest and truly document our "every day", not just the best days, I thought I'd share a sneak peek at a less than glamorous day (today!).

Sometimes, our days looks a lot like THIS....you know, where I'm up and ready early, have the bed made, dishes put away, do some laundry, am wearing cute clothes /make-up, run errands, make baby food....
BUT SOMETIMES, our days look like this too................

Pillows and a blanket on the couch??  Hmm....that seems strange?  Why yes, this is where I slept / didn't sleep last night.  My hubby snored in my face for 1/2 the night, so I headed for the couch around 2 a.m.  Then I was up from 3:00 - 4:30 with a crying babe (he just learned how to stand up in his crib, but hasn't figured out how to sit down from standing on his own, so he stands up and thinks he's stuck and cries the saddest, most genuine cry you've ever heard, begging for help to be able to get down!).  He repeatedly did this from 3 - 4:30.   To say I'm tired today is an understatement.  I truly feel hungover, but didn't have any fun last night. Hmmm.

Shirts hanging off your couch?  The hubs thinks his shirts shrink if we dry them all the way in the dryer, so I lay his Polos out to finish drying.  It really adds a "pop" of color to the living room, don't you think?  Yah, I should have been an interior designer.  ;)

What did we have for breakfast you ask?
Me:  Nothing but the finest!  A sugar-free Rockstar and macaroni and cheese.  Sure did.  ps - the macaroni and cheese was to die for --- I made it this weekend....best ever!
Jackson:  cheerios and a banana

Why are you eating it in your office / guest bedroom?
The babe is ON THE MOVE, so food is about the only thing that will keep him still long enough for me to attempt to blog! :)  This post started around 8 a.m. and it's noon and I'm still not done yet.

Jackson's new clothes strung out across the dining room table.....needing to be hung up / folded.
Side note:  check out those precious star swim trunks!

Are you ready for the day yet?
WHY, OF COURSE....not.  I'm sporting a sweatshirt and orange sweatpants.  No lie.  Not one bit of makeup on and I badly need to wash my hair.  Glamorous, eh?

INSERT HORRIBLE PHOTO OF MYSELF HERE THAT I'M UNWILLING TO POST.

Is Jackson dressed and ready for the day?
Are you kidding?  The mini always comes first and typically looks good while I sometimes look thrown together.
I've changed his clothes three times already.... out of pj's, then he had a serious blowout diaper, and then he smeared bananas all over his shirt and hair...so he's looked quite dapper three different times today.  He's now wearing shorts and a t-shirt.  We'll see if that's what he's still in before bedtime tonight.

****Look real close in his toy basket there behind him.......****

Darci, what would you do if your baby boy kept tipping his toy basket over onto himself?
Hard to say, but I most DEFINITELY would not put a big bottle of Jose Cuervo margarita mix in there to weigh it down [it's plastic....not glass...I'm not a total fool].  I mean what kind of mom would do that?  Oh yah, and Miss Rose says hello.

SOME DAYS I THINK I TOTALLY ROCK THIS WHOLE MOM "GIG"....AND THEN, THERE ARE OTHERS WHERE I FEEL LIKE NEED A MAKEOVER, A LIFE COACH AND MIGHT POSSIBLY SELL MY SOUL TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP WITHOUT A BABY MONITOR 6 INCHES FROM MY EAR.

Good day or bad day, this guy always makes it fun. :)

as -LUCK- would have it.

Is anyone else excited that it's March 1st and Spring is on the way?!  To kick off the month of March,  here are a few, fun finds and random photos from my little casa. : )

When I think of "green", my sweet Rosemary comes to mind (my green beach cruiser w/ pink rims).  She's lovely.  I need to look into a bike trailer or something that hooks on to a bike so I can take baby J with me.

This is on my "to do" list... thought it would be a fun [and easy!] little treat to give to someone or just leave out on the counter?
Found here.

I used the graphic from the "lucky u" tag above (the girls @ eighteen25 come up with the cutest stuff!) to spruce up my chalkboard for the month of March!

This stove is awesome...perhaps someday I'll have one just like it in my airstream trailer. ;)

Of course, Jackson is going to need a shirt for St. Patrick's Day [yes, I'm that mom... I know]....  I'm debating between these three.  What's your pick.....  1, 2 or 3?

I need this nail polish - the color is LUCKY, LUCKY lavender!

These are green BABY BOY jeans sold at Old Navy.  Is it just me or should the bright colored jeans trend only apply for women?  I can't see my hubby being a fan of Jackson in green jeans??  Anyone else?

Here are my lucky puppy loves....all ready for the month of March with their green bandanas!

before we go any further... two quick things:

  • i'm doing another 'blog sale' --- check it out here!
  • i apologize in advance for not using proper punctuation / capitalizing anything.  it's been a crazy day and i'm simply too tired to hit the shift key.  deal?
now that that's out of the way, let's get started ------  i think i mentioned last week that my sweet jackson pie is on the move?  if not, well, he is.  and let me tell you, people aren't lying when they say that it's a WHOLE other ball game when your mini becomes mobile.  other moms would tell me this and it just seemed overly dramatic to me at the time.  it's not.  it's a total change of pace!   i spend my days blocking him from things, pulling him away from something two seconds before he grabs it and scooping him up right before he falls backwards.  i used to be able to vacuum / clean the house while J happily played in one spot.  not so much these days!

i take my eye off of him for one second and he's doing one of three things:
  1. sprinting crawling as fast as his little legs will allow, straight towards our brick fireplace because you know, who doesn't want to suck on a brick? ;)
  2. searching for any and all electrical outlets in hopes of sticking his fingers in them.  [headed to the store today to buy baby proofing "stuff"].
  3. attempting to make it in the laundry room to access the dogs' water bowl.  this is the one room he's yet to explore and i'm pretty sure he's bound and determined to break in there however possible.
it appears as this will be our new "normal" for a little while until we hit a new milestone and things change!  as busy as my days are with him on the move, it's fun and so neat to be able to watch him explore and learn.  my baby is becoming a big boy right before my eyes.   it's wild.  and i knew these days were ahead --- since I could feel him kicking and punching every 30 seconds in my tummy when i was pregnant, i KNEW he'd always be on the move!

and here you go - proof on the whole sucking on the brick fireplace thing.  gotta run.  xoxo.

and one more just because they're both so stinkin' cute!

everything is better if it's PINK [blog sale: round 2]
